Our homebrewing history

Larry Bell began homebrewing in 1977. The first batch was a sugar bomb, leading him to all-grain brewing, because he wanted to create beers with a strong malt backbone similar to European beers that he and his friends were into. From the beginning, Larry was willing to go to great lengths to get the best ingredients.

Finally, in 1983 Larry decided that in order to afford his hobby and be able to source the best ingredients he would open Kalamazoo Brewery Supply Company. We still operate a home brewing supply shop in our General Store, 37 years later.

Bell’s Select Hops

As Dylan mentioned, our Bell’s Select Hops are the same hand-selected hops we use to make our own beers in the brewery.
