Q&A: How old is that bottle of Bell’s beer?

Bell's Brewery, Inc.
06.21.2012

Batch.jpgA: Every bottle, not to mention case and mini-keg, has the actual date of packaging (PKGD) printed directly on it.

You can find it in the white rectangle on the back label in a six digit format – MM/DD/YY (or side of the case or the upper side wall of our mini-kegs).

Following that date is a letter – A, B or C – that denotes a shelf life category of six months, twelve months and unlimited respectively.

Most of our ales and lagers will fall into the A or six month shelf life category.

Cherry Stout has a shelf life of 12 months and two of our ales, Expedition Stout and Third Coast Old Ale, are designed for unlimited aging.

Of course, you can also use our Batch Finder as well.
