Bell's Vintage Tasting will include a special charity auction to benefit Fair Food Matters in Kalamazoo
Kalamazoo Beer Week may officially end on Friday, but we still have one more event on Jan. 19.
Our Vintage Tasting at the Eccentric Cafe will be similar to a mini beer festival but will also include a special charity auction to benefit Fair Food Matters, a local nonprofit in Kalamazoo.
Up for auction:
- One 3 liter bottle of The Oracle
- One 3 liter bottle of 2012 Black Note
- 2 4-packs of 1995 Expedition Stout (Great American Beer Festival gold medal winner, Aged Beer Category, 2011)
- 1 6-pack of Cherry Stout Reserve 2001, aged over cherry pits and oak chips
- 1 6-pack of Batch 6000
- 1 6-pack of Third Coast Old Ale, Batch #6197
- Vintage Bell's gear
Saturday's event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is $10 and includes 4 drink tickets plus a commemorative tasting glass.
Additional tickets can be purchased for $1 each with most samples ranging in price from $1 to $2 (each sample is two to three ounces).
Bottles will also be available to purchase and will be priced accordingly.

Kalamazoo Beer Week: Homebrew Demo with the Bell's General Store at Food Dance in Kalamazoo from 6-8 p.m.
Jan. 15
Kalamazoo Beer Week: Zazio's Chef's Table with Mattawan Artisan Creamery in Kalamazoo at 5:30 p.m. (happy hour) at 6 p.m. (dinner). Take a look at the menu (vegetarian options are available).
Kalamazoo Beer Week: Brewer's Happy Hour & Brew and View at the Eccentric Cafe. This is a rare opportunity to meet the people who make Bell’s beer in The Back Room at the Cafe from 5 to 7 p.m. for some informal beer discussion. Snacks will be provided and be sure to stick around afterward for a special beer themed Brew & View (free admission).
Jan. 16
Hopslam and Sliders: Green Dot Stables in Detroit from 5-9 p.m. Mix and match from an extensive menu.

Kalamazoo Beer Week: Bourbon Barrel Aged Beer, Smoked Meats and Cheese Tasting from 5-9 p.m. - Along with various smoked meats and cheeses, the Eccentric Café will be serving up bourbon barrel aged versions of Cherry Stout, Batch 9,000, Kalamazoo Stout (also a firkin) and Expedition Stout. Black Note will also be on tap. Order a flight and get a sidecar of Lager of the Lakes as well.

Kalamazoo Beer Week: Minute To Win It Party at Shakespeare's Pub in Kalamazoo at 7 p.m. - Bourbon Barrel Aged Cherry Stout, Raspberry Ale, Two Hearted, Amber and Winter White. Challenge the Bell’s team (and others) to four rounds of short challenges similar to the TV show “A Minute To Win It” and compete for prizes.
This Tap Takeover Goes to 11: Stardust in Saginaw at 6 p.m. - Black Note, Sparkling Ale, Bourbon Barrel Aged Cherry Stout, This one goes to 11, Midwestern Pale Ale, Best Brown, Two Hearted, Porter, Captain Spontaneous, Kalamazoo Stout and Hopslam.
Hopslam Release Party: Shamrock Pub in Utica at 6 p.m. - Amber, Porter, Winter White and Two Hearted will also be on tap.
Kalamazoo Beer Week: Jazz Series Tasting with special musical guests Big Organ Trio at the Eccentric Cafe starting at 9:30 p.m. Our Jazz Series - Le Pianiste, Le Contrabassiste and Le Batteur - will come together for a perfect pairing of great beer and live jazz music starting at 9:30 p.m. There is no cover for the music.
