To celebrate Grand Rapids Beer Week we have four more events planned, in addition to The Jammies at The Intersection. All pre-festival events start at 6 p.m. and full details are below.

Rounding out the week is the SOLD OUT Michigan Winter Beer Festival at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park.

We're bringing 20 22 different beers many of which are normally only available at the Eccentric Café in downtown Kalamazoo (see full list below).

Festival fashion is something we always look forward to at this event so we're also bringing our photo booth to help find the best winter festi-wear.

A panel of judges will award prizes to the best outfits based on creativity, resourcefulness and warmth factor (this can go either way).

Of course, if you just want to stop by and get your photo taken to help mark the occasion, we can help with that too (we'll also have plenty of props to accessorize with).

See you soon.

Now shipping: Midwestern Pale Ale mini-kegs

Josh Smith | Bell's Brewery

MWPAMiniKegWEB.jpgOur next mini-keg will feature Midwestern Pale Ale.

The 5 liter cans have started shipping but will be limited.

They will also be available at the Bell’s General Store in downtown Kalamazoo beginning Feb. 7.

Brewed with a combination of 2-row malt and barley grown on the Bell’s Farm in Shepherd, Michigan, this is the first time Midwestern Pale Ale will be available in this additional packaging option.

The artwork features an artistic representation of the Bell’s Farm by Kalamazoo-based artist Conrad Kaufman.

The can features the same painting as the label but will be shown in its entirety on the mini-keg.

"This is a perfect way to share Midwestern Pale Ale,” said Laura Bell, Bell’s Vice President.

“We are proud that this beer is made with an ingredient grown on our farm right here in Michigan and that will be front and center to everyone when these arrive in stores,” she said.

For help locating Midwestern Pale Ale mini-kegs, please use our Beer Finder to contact nearby retailers for more information.

Oberon mini-kegs will also be released in May.
