JOB TITLE:  Oberon Server

LOCATION: Eccentric Café, Kalamazoo, MI

REPORTS TO: Assistant FOH Manager

FLSA POSITION TYPE: Part-time, Hourly Non-Exempt

EXTERNAL POSTING DATES: 03/05/2018-03/25/2018

POSITION SUMMARY: Serving patrons with a friendly attitude and knowledge of Bell’s products for the peak patio hours (May – August).  



• Adheres to and advances the “Safety Always” culture of Bell’s Brewery.

• Follows Inspired Hospitality steps of service.

• Opening setup / closing duties and light cleaning projects.

• Maintains clean and organized work area / service station.

• Attends pre-shift meetings.

• Cleans and stocks glassware.

• Cuts off individuals & communicates to proper channels.

• Take food orders, expediting food, etc.

• Full knowledge of menu offerings and preparation techniques. 

• Stock service area with supplies.

• Answers the telephone and passes callers to the proper authority.

• Accurately tendering money and giving change for purchases.

• Beer knowledge: Accurately describe all beers on tap & bottles in cooler, compare & contrast beers & styles, know proper glassware and price points.

• Full knowledge of all employee discounts, policies, procedures for sales reps & guests. 

• Ensures the responsible service of alcohol to customers and retains up-to-date TiPS certification 

• Must have a flexible schedule, nights and weekends are required

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  

• Must be 21 years or older



• Electric glass washer

• Soaps and cleansers

• POS system

• Coffee and tea brewing equipment

• Citrus Juicer

• Ice Machine

• Fountain Soda Dispenser



• Ability to resolve customer complaints about beer and/or service.

• An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards who will positively represent Bell’s Brewery both internally and externally

• A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Efficient money handling skills

• Ability to prioritize and multi-task

• Extensive beer knowledge



• Food and craft beer knowledge 

• Previous experience in a bar atmosphere checking and verify ID’s 

• Full service dining room experience

• Prior money handling experience

• POS system experience (Aloha, etc)

• TiPS/Tam certified, a plus
