POSITION SUMMARY: The Operation Lead’s primary responsibilities include leading and organizing the day-to-day Operation Team’s efforts to support and execute hospitality and brewing operations of the Eccentric Café and Downtown Retail Campus (DRC). This position will also support the Hospitality Manager in delivering a first-class experience to all customers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adheres to and advances the “Safety Always” culture of Bell’s Brewery, Inc., and is accountable for the safety of their crew. Leads by example in order to be a Safety role model for the department.

• Promotes an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork within the department and the company.

• Receives operations requests and assigns to staff 

• Leads and motivates completion of all operations activities while on shift

• Schedules and monitors staff attendance and performance through documentation, coaching and/or progressive discipline efforts with coordination of Hospitality General Manager 

• Conducts annual performance reviews with all direct reports. 

• Coordinates with HR and Hospitality General Manager for interviewing and hiring of new staff.

• Assists HR and Hospitality General Manager to successfully onboard and train new team members.

• Supports operations team to meet service needs as required. 

• Coordinates with Event Manager to lead team in the support and execution of all logistical aspects of Eccentric Café events setup and tear down.

• Conducts weekly staff meetings to discuss upcoming events and projects to ensure communication throughout the department. 

• Collaborates with other department leaders to determine, prioritize and execute operational requests

• Develops and maintains SOPs to ensure the accountability and training of the operations team; monitors and tracks efficiency of training through outcomes of service

• Reports shift notes at the conclusion of each shift.

• Coordinates with DRC Purchasing Specialist to maintain inventory levels of all pub supplies by managing physical counts

• Works with outside vendors to remove spent grain.

• Assists FOH and General Store leadership in collection and management of beer inventory through the continual organization and auditing 

• Assists Brewery Logistics team with reporting, movement, and tracking of B1 inventory; especially tax-exempt beer.

• Assists Hospitality Manager with future growth of the DRC through continuous optimization of current processes.

• Prepares Bill of Ladings for outbound shipments.

 

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

• Prior facilities operations experience

• Experience in wood, metal, or plastic fabrication

• Forklift training and/or certification

• Prior experience working event set-up and tear down

• Prior experience working in a bar setting

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and a work order and inventory management software
