Oberon Operations Technician

JOB TITLE: Oberon Operations Tech 

LOCATION: Eccentric Café, Kalamazoo, MI  

REPORTS TO: Operations Lead

FLSA POSITION TYPE: Part-time, Hourly Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: Works to support and execute hospitality and brewing operations of the Eccentric Café and Downtown Retail Campus (DRC) during beer garden show season (June-October). Assists in a variety of aspects throughout the business as needed.



• Adheres to and advances the “Safety Always” culture of Bell’s Brewery.

• Supports and executes all logistical aspects of Eccentric Café events setup and tear down

o Executes the requested placement of Eccentric Café owned and rented equipment

o Jockey box set-up

o CO2 delivery and hook-up

o Equipment checks

o Barrier and coverings set-up

o Event lighting

o Marquee sign updates

• Responsible for transportation of all beer inventory needs

o movement of beer from B1 to roundhouse and roundhouse to beer coolers 

o stock rotation of beer in coolers

o movement of raw material and cooperage delivery

• Removal and handling of trash, compost, and recyclables

• Loading and unloading of all shipments received at DRC

o Housekeeping supplies and chemicals

o BOH supplies and stocking

o FOH supplies

o Drinking water jugs and stocking

o Softener salt

• General warehouse and cooler cleaning

• Annual décor fabrication

• Reupholster café seating as necessary

• Conducts physical counts of inventory levels and reports to Operations Lead

• Transports a variety of items between company buildings 

• Transports cardboard to recycler multiple times weekly for DRC

• Completes daily checklists and projects as directed by the Operations Lead

• Must possess a valid driver’s license

• Must have a flexible schedule; nights, weekends, and on call duties are required.

• Must be able to be trained to be a certified forklift driver



• Variety of hand tools and shop equipment

• Bar code scanner

• Cleaning agents and other hazardous chemicals

• Ability to maintain a neat & clean work environment

• The ability and aptitude to work with and troubleshoot portable dispense systems such as jockey boxes and draft boxes

• Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness in setting priorities and proposing new ways of creating efficiencies

• Flexibility and adaptability to an ever changing environment

• Excellent customer service skills 




• Prior facilities operations experience 

• Forklift training and/or certification

• Prior experience working event set-up and tear down

• Prior experience working in a bar setting
